TriggerNews is a new, exciting and innovative news service, which provides dynamic, real-time news "triggered" on key words users enter into their own watchlists.

Due to the instant and targeted nature of how news alerts are delivered, information received through TriggerNews can be used to trade stocks or to stay instantly informed of any breaking company or worldwide news stories.

Traditional methods of receiving news have been through email, streamers or even going to a common news site and hitting the Refresh button time and time again (we know, we’ve done it). Receiving or retrieving news this way has inherent delays and opportunities to react to specific news may be lost.

TriggerNews® provides a powerful and faster way of getting the news. Subscribers set up triggers in their account based on company names, trading symbols or any key word phrases they choose. News stories that contain those words or symbols in the subject header of a news release will immediately be routed to the user in the form of a pop-up window alert. At the heart of TriggerNews is our patented TriggerEngine® technology, which was architected for high performance (even through slow speed dial-up lines) and scalability to accommodate hundreds of thousands of connected users. Our goal is to deliver alerts to you within 5 seconds of news hitting the wire, regardless of the number of users on-line. Once subscribers are connected, TriggerNews runs as a background process with only a small icon showing in their system tray. Users may then go about their normal work routine, knowing that only news they want to receive will automatically route to them when trigger phrases are matched.

When a news story breaks, an alert window pops up on the screen. After the user has read the subject header and has a basic understanding of the news alert, several options are available: A user may Dismiss the pop-up window (the alert message is saved on the user’s system for future reference), Delete the message or Go To Article. Selecting the last option immediately opens a new browser window and links the user back to the article or press release at the data source to read the full text.

TriggerNews is not a news aggregator or portal. We don’t use web-bots to scour the web for news stories and post them to our site. We select content providers as news sources who provide real-time, dynamic news through direct feeds that can be instantly acted upon.

As soon as news stories or announcements are released, they come to you instantly with no add-on editorializing or spin doctoring. Some of our content providers are typically the same ones used by all major news sources, including television news networks. That means you receive news at the same time they do.
